There are basically two options for pie crusts: Make it yourself or buy a pie crust pre-made. Of course, if you buy one, it isn’t going to be the best you could possibly have, since it’s frozen, sits around on a shelf forever, and then re-thawed. But making a pie crust by hand is a pain and takes a while. You have the potential for better results, but you can also mess up.

So I guess it depends on how good a cook you are (or think you are), how much time you want to spend, and whether or not you’re a perfectionist in your pie making.
